More than 230 searches are carried out on Wednesday in the country to break up groups specialised in committing the crimes of human trafficking, minors trafficking, drug trafficking and cybercrime, and 223 arrest warrants will be executed.
„At this moment, as part of a large-scale operation, the police officers of the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and the territorial structures for combating organised crime, together with the Directorate for the Investigation of Organised Crime and Terror (DIICOT) prosecutors, with the support of the Romanian Gendarmerie, are carrying out over 40 operative actions, to prove the criminal activity and destructuring criminal groups specialised in committing the crimes of human trafficking, minors trafficking, drug trafficking and computer crime,” informs the Romanian Police General Inspectorate (IGPR).
As part of the coordinated operation, carried out at the national level, the police, together with DIICOT prosecutors, will execute over 230 home search warrants and 223 arrest warrants.
Thus, 23 operative actions are being conducted in the fight against drug trafficking, with 151 home search warrants being executed, as well as 6 operative actions in the fight against IT crime, with 10 home searches being carried out, the quoted source mentions.
Also, the police and prosecutors carry out 12 operative actions in the line of combating trafficking in persons and minors, with 71 home search warrants being executed.
The actions aim to create an optimal safety climate for citizens and, last but not least, to protect the victims of crimes.AGERPRES
