One person died on Thursday following a road accident on the Timisoara – Lugoj motorway involving two cars and a truck loaded with wood, the spokesman for the Timisoara Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU), Zorita Mircov, told AGERPRES.
„According to the first pieces of information, we have a deceased victim from one of the cars,” the source said.
The first data showed that the driver of the truck drove into the wrong lane and hit several cars.
As a result of the extremely violent impact, the person who was in a car registered in Hungary and who had a Diplomatic Corps number died.
„The deceased person was a diplomat,” the press office of the Timisoara Police told AGERPRES.
Judicial sources mentioned that the victim is a Hungarian diplomat accredited in Romania.
Subsequently, the Timis Police informed that a tire of a trailer truck loaded with wood exploded while traveling on the A1 Deva-Nadlac from Timisoara to Lugoj, which is why it entered the wrong direction of travel and collided with a vehicle driven by a 60-year-old man, with the truck then colliding with two other vehicles.
Following the impact, the 60-year-old driver died, according to IPJ Timis.
The police have drawn up a criminal file in connection with the crime of manslaughter.
