Chairman of the National Liberal Party (PNL) Nicolae Ciuca said on Thursday that Finance minister Marcel Bolos proposed, at the meeting of the party’s National Political Bureau (BNP), measures to continue the efforts to ensure better collection of revenues to the state budget, but also to support the business environment.
„We had several important topics that were discussed and approved by the BNP. The topics were presented by our ministers, and I am referring first of all to the minister of Finance, who came and presented the securing of necessary funds for the Pension House, thus – 12.5 billion RON will be transferred to the Pension House to be able to make pension payments on time in accordance with the provisions of the new law. Also, taking into account the need for development at the level of local communities, 2 billion RON will be provided for the payment of outstanding bills. (…) The minister of Finance came and proposed measures in terms of continuing the steps to ensure the best possible collection of revenues to the state budget, but also to support, as I was saying, the business environment,” Ciuca said at the Parliament Palace.
He mentioned that a measure was also proposed for those who paid their debts on time – tax bonuses.
„As regards the payment of existing debts, which, according to the figures presented, amount to more than 70 billion RON, we deemed as very important that there should be measures to acknowledge those who have paid their debts on time. Thus, will be provided a 3% tax bonus that they will be able to use for both investment and debt repayment next year. In order to ensure the collection of these debts, the Ministry of Finance has identified a solution whereby those who have not paid their debts and will pay them by November 25 will benefit from a 100% write-off of the ancillary charges. As such, according to the Finance minister’s estimate, there is a possibility that out of about 60 billion RON, about 20-25% of this amount will be collected,” said the PNL leader.
