FinMin Nazare: Budget deficit falls to 5.7pct of GDP in October 2025

The budget deficit fell to 5.7% of GDP in October this year compared with October 2024, when it stood at 6.2%, Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare announced on Thursday.

„I would like to speak briefly about the October execution because there are some very important aspects this year. First of all, the deficit has decreased compared with last year, compared with 2024, with the October 2024 deficit, when it was 6.2%. In October this year the execution shows a deficit of 5.7%,” Alexandru Nazare said during a conference presenting the report on the budget execution for the third quarter of 2025 and the execution of the Consolidated General Budget for the first ten months of the year.

After the first nine months of this year the budget deficit stood at 5.39%.
