A joint edition Republic of Moldova – Romania of the Night of Museums will be organized on May 13, announced Friday Dragos Neamu, coordinator of the Department of International Relations and Cultural Projects at the National Network of Romanian Museums, according to Agerpres.
As many as 12 specialized institutions, including the National Museum of Moldova in Chisinau, have already confirmed their participation in this project.
„We are still waiting for replies to our invitation from other museums as well. In any case, we will start promoting NM 2023 as a joint edition and we will update the official website in this regard,” Neamu said in a post on Facebook.
„We are trying to make it permanent, considering this as a kind of pilot edition, to see how the relationship between us works. And, insofar as we conclude that things can be deemed as a success, then we will also conceive some broader forms of collaboration and which also involve common cultural projects for the future. But, for now, we are testing this edition to see how we understand each other and what we can gain from this organization. I am referring especially to the visibility, the impact, the way such partnership is received,” said Dragos Neamu.
The 18th edition of the Night of Museums was present in all corners of the country, in 87 localities (cities, municipalities, villages) from 39 counties, where countless cultural spaces were opened to the public, with diverse and interactive activities, adapted to all ages and cultural interests. In Bucharest, the Night of the Museums recorded an absolute record of 64 cultural attractions.
Initiated by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, sponsored by the Council of Europe, UNESCO and the International Council of Museums, the event is organized on a national level by the National Network of Romanian Museums (RNMR).
