I am glad that Parliament voted for this necessary measure, given that Romania has record inflation in the European Union.

It is imperative that we continue to protect Romanians’ purchasing power, especially that of those with low and middle incomes.

I want the next government to include in its governing programme the measure proposed by the PSD, namely the extension of the list of products with a limited commercial markup to also include a range of non-food products. A list of essential products could be drawn up for which the commercial markup would be limited, using the same model we applied to basic food products,” Barbu says.
