Minister of Foreign Affairs Luminita Odobescu had a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Gordan Grlic Radman, in Paris on Thursday, where they agreed to continue coordination on priority issues of the bilateral, European and security agenda, informs a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE).
According to the cited source, the discussions between the two officials, which took place on the sidelines of the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting 2024, reflected the „very good” level of cooperation between Romania and Croatia, as well as common interests at regional, European and international level.
„Minister Luminita Odobescu expressed her appreciation for the substantial political dialogue, both at high level and between the ministries and the relevant authorities of the two countries. During the discussions, the two high officials reviewed recent developments in the accession process of the two candidate countries to OECD membership. The officials noted the very good state of internal progress and signalled the intention to maintain close coordination throughout the process, in particular on issues of horizontal interest. The two ministers also discussed the regional security situation and support granted to Ukraine in the context of the war of aggression launched by the Russian Federation,” reads the press release.
MAE states that, with regard to the European agenda, the head of the Romanian diplomacy expressed Bucharest’s firm support for the European Union enlargement process, both in relation to the Western Balkans and the Eastern candidates, particularly the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.
