The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bogdan Aurescu, on Thursday stated that Bucharest is once again becoming the international capital of diplomacy by organizing the first Conference on Black Sea Security, under the aegis of the International Crimea Platform, and a new meeting of the Trilateral Romania-Republic Moldova-Ukraine, write Agerpres.

„It gives me great pleasure to host, today, in Bucharest, two events of particular importance. It is about the Conference on the security of the Black Sea, the first of its kind organized under the aegis of the International Crimea Platform together with Ukraine, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defence of Romania and the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, as well as the second session of the trilateral between Romania, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, after the one we organized last year in Odessa.

Both meetings represent events of particular importance for Romania, for Bucharest, which again becomes, after the meetings we hosted in November last year – the Munich leaders’ meeting and the NATO ministerial meeting – the international capital of diplomacy,” said Aurescu, before participating in the first Conference on Black Sea Security taking place under the aegis of the International Crimea Platform.

He pointed out that there are also guests at the conference who participate through videoconference.

„Over 250 delegates from over 30 countries are coming to Bucharest today to participate in this event,” Aurescu emphasized.

The head of Romanian diplomacy reiterated his condemnation of the war initiated by the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
