The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bogdan Aurescu, will pay an official visit to Budapest on Tuesday, at the invitation of his Hungarian counterpart, Peter Szijjarto, with whom he will have political consultations, the Foreign Ministry (MAE) informs, according to Agerpres.
According to the cited source, the head of Romanian diplomacy will also have meetings with representatives of the Romanian minority in Hungary, as well as with representatives of the Romanian business milieu in Hungary.
Bogdan Aurescu’s visit to Hungary follows this year’s visits to Bucharest by the President of Hungary, Katalin Novak (September 7) and the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Peter Szijjarto (July 12), the MAE adds.
The mentioned source also shows that this visit also represents „the marking of a symbolic moment for the whole of Romanian-Hungarian bilateral relations”: the 20th anniversary of the signing, in Budapest (November 29, 2002), of the Declaration of Strategic Partnership between the Government of Romania and the Government of the Republic of Hungary for the Europe of the 21st Century, a fundamental instrument that structured the cooperation between the two states on new, modern bases.
