Arad border guards on Tuesday found 40 migrants from Syria, Iran, Iraq and Turkey who tried to illegally cross the border to reach Western Europe, being hidden in two lorries.
At the Nadlac II border crossing, a lorry driven by a Romanian, who declared that he was not shipping goods and was headed for Hungary, was checked on the way out of the country.
„A thorough check of the vehicle led to 24 foreign citizens being found hidden in a semi-trailer. The persons were taken over for investigations. It was later revealed that they are citizens of Syria, Iraq and Turkey,” the Arad Border Police reported.
Also, at the Nadlac I border crossing, the border guards checked a lorry in the parking lot, finding 16 people hidden in a semi-trailer. These are migrants from Syria, Iran and Iraq who intended to cross the border illegally.
