The Government adopted on Tuesday several decisions that establish the legislative framework for the exploitation of deposits and ores in several areas of the country.
The government announced in a press release that it has approved a decision on the inclusion in the centralized inventory of assets in the public domain of Dealul Jgheabului industrial andesite and construction deposit and the industrial and construction limestone deposit of Paraul Romaneasa stream in the mining area of Rosia Poieni, Alba County.
With the approval of the normative act, the necessary administrative procedures will be finalized.
The state public ownership of these mineral resources of andesite and limestone, as well as of all mineral resources located on the territory and in the subsoil of Romania and of the continental shelf of the Black Sea economic zone of the country is established by provisions of the Mining Law, the executive said.
Mining is carried out on the basis of an exclusive license, which is granted by negotiation. Currently, the concession license is held by S.C. CUPRU MIN S.A Abrud.
The Dealul Jgheabului andesite deposit, with an area of 0.055 square km, is located in the northern part of the license perimeter of the Rosia Poieni mining operation.
The 0.24 square km deposit of industrial and construction limestone Paraul Romaneasca is located in the eastern part of the license perimeter of the same mining operation.
Another Government Decision approved the Additional Act to the concession license for the exploitation of copper ore, industrial and construction limestone and industrial and construction andesite in the Rosia Poieni perimeter.
The Ciolacu Cabinet approved the extension of the duration of the mining license in the Rosia Poieni perimeter for a period of five contractual years, until January 31, 2030.
The Government also adopted on Tuesday a decision on the approval of the Additional Act to the concession license for the exploitation of dacite in the Tunel I – Magura Ilvei perimeter, Bistrita-Nasaud County.
The duration of the license for exploitation is extended by five years in this case as well. The concession license was concluded in 1999 between the National Agency for Mineral Resources, now the National Authority for the Regulation of Mining, Petroleum and Geological Storage of Carbon Dioxide, and Cariere Ilsom S.A. Nasaud, now transferred to Romcim SA.
The extension is valid for a period of five contractual years, until January 31, 2030, with the right of extension for successive periods of five years.
The Executive also approved the Additional Act to the concession license for the exploitation of dacite in the Poiana Ilvei – Magura Sturzii perimeter.
The duration of the exploitation license in this perimeter is extended by five contractual years, until January 31, 2030, with the right of extension for successive periods of five years. The extension of the exploitation license is to be carried out within the granted exploitation perimeter.
