France is with the Ukrainian people, and the humanitarian aid that will leave the European hub in northeastern Suceava aims to facilitate the economic recovery of the destroyed cities and the stricken areas of Ukraine, the French Ambassador to Romania, Laurence Auer, said on Sunday in Suceava, according to Agerpres.

„It is an action that marks our solidarity with the Ukrainian people. These materials are aimed at relaunching economic activity in destroyed cities and in the sinister areas of Ukraine. We thank the local authorities and the hub in Suceava, which works with so much efficiency. We also thank the ambassador of Ukraine, who will facilitate the transport of this convoy to Ukraine (…) It is the fourth humanitarian convoy. It is about the operation ‘a ship for Ukraine’, initiated by the president of the French Republic, supported by 1,700 communities and around 60 enterprises that participated in the action,” she said.

The French Ambassador, Laurence Auer, was present on Sunday at the ceremony of handing over the first donations from this humanitarian convoy, which was also attended by the ambassador of Ukraine to Romania, Ihor Prokopchuk, and the secretary of state in the Interior Ministry Raed Arafat.

The humanitarian aid consists of over a thousand tonnes of goods donated to Ukraine by France, but also in 15 fire and rescue vehicles brought by French civil security soldiers. All materials are due to arrive in the coming days at the European hub in Suceava.
