President Klaus Iohannis conferred the National Order „Star of Romania” in the rank of Commander to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic in Bucharest, Laurence Auer, write Agerpres.
According to the decree published on Wednesday by the Presidential Administration, the head of state awarded the French diplomat the National Order „Star of Romania” in the rank of Commander as a sign of „high appreciation for the exceptional contribution made to the development of bilateral relations between our country and the French Republic”.
Also, as a sign of „high appreciation for the constant promotion of the measures that Romania has taken in the field of combating anti-Semitism and preserving the memory of the victims of the Holocaust, with particular effects on the image and visibility of our country at the European and international level,” president Iohannis awarded the National Order „Faithful Service” in the rank of Commander to the coordinator for combating anti-Semitism and promoting Jewish life within the European Commission, Katharina von Schnurbein.
