G7 calls for tougher sanctions against North Korea

Published on

G7 countries denounced North Korea’s „irresponsible” launch of a new intercontinental ballistic missile, urging the United Nations Security Council to take „significant” additional measures to end North Korean tests, AFP reports, Agerpres reads.

The foreign ministers of the Group of Seven said that North Korea’s repeated missile launches „further destabilize the region, despite calls from the international community for peace and stability”.

The missile Pyongyang tested on Friday appears to be its latest type of ICBM, with a potential range that would allow it to hit the American mainland.
