Gas imports, down 17.3%, production down 4.9% 7 months into 2022

Romania imported, in the first seven months of 2022, a quantity of usable natural gas of 1.301 million tonnes of oil equivalent (toe), 17.3% (-271,500 toe) less than in the similar period last year, according to data centralised by the National Institute of Statistics (INS), Agerpres read.

The domestic production of natural gas was, in the mentioned period, more than 4.067 million toe, that is 4.9% (209,200 toe) below that of the first seven months of 2021.

The National Strategy and Prognosis Commission estimates for 2022 a gas production of 7.45 million toe and imports of 2.33 million toe, increasing 1.9%, respectively decreasing 19.6%, year on year.
