Generations of Romanians fought for independence, sovereignty, unity, democracy under colours of National Flag (Ciolacu)

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said that generations of Romanians have fought for independence, sovereignty, unity and democracy under the colors of the national flag, „values in which we strongly believe”.

„Today we celebrate the tricolour flag, symbol of our national unity and identity and witness of the main key moments in our history, from the Greater Union to the December 1989 Revolution. Under the colors of the National Flag, generations of Romanians have fought for independence, sovereignty, unity and democracy, values in which we strongly believe,” Ciolacu conveyed in his message on Wednesday, on the occasion of the National Flag Day.

According to the prime minister, in 21st century Romania „we emotionally and proudly live the moments when we see the Tricolour Flag carried by professionals appreciated by our foreign partners” or hoisted on the mast of victories, when our compatriots achieve success in major competitions.

„Remaining united around this symbol of our identity is the strongest sign of respect for our own history and for what we want to leave to the generations to come: a modern Romania, capable of facing the challenges in the NATO security space and the democratic values of the European Union. The Romanian Tricolour Flag will always be a token of our unity, an invaluable landmark of Romanian consciousness. Many Happy Returns to the National Flag and to all of Romania,” Marcel Ciolacu added.
