Government adopts draft law on donation of Patriot system

Published on

On Monday, the government adopted the draft law on the donation of a Patriot surface-to-air missile system to third parties.

The draft law will be sent to the Parliament as an emergency, declared the spokesman of the government, Mihai Constantin.

„The executive has approved and will send to Parliament, as an emergency, a draft law that completes Law 222/2017 on ground-based air defense capability. Concretely, the draft stipulates that a Patriot surface-to-air missile system is subject of donation documents to third parties. After the adoption of the law by the Parliament, the government will be able to issue the decision that will make the donation document operational,” said Mihai Constantin, at a press conference held at the Victoria Palace.
