The government approved on Thursday a much-awaited EUR 500 million state aid scheme for productive activities and for the manufacturing industry, Finance Minister Marcel Bolos announced.

„The minimum value of eligible projects to be submitted is EUR 10 million, the maximum value is EUR 100 million. The covered activities are related just to industry and industrial production, the manufacturing industry, and in this context we anticipate a substantial multiplier effect on the economy, with job creation and the attraction of investments to the economy, so as to ensure Romania’s sustainable development,” Bolos said at the briefing at the end of the government meeting.

According to the cited source, at the same sitting, the government also adopted a package regarding the financing of investment projects from foreign reimbursable funds, measures intended for economic operators with state-owned capital and with capital of administrative-territorial units, as well as a set of social measures.

„Also, a set of measures was adopted regarding the grant of social benefits to employees, by the model in force in the public sector, then we also have a series of social measures regarding merit allowances granted in the field of culture, the updating of war veteran allowances by the annual inflation, where we have over 200,000 beneficiaries, and of course the measures related to the benefits of the members of the Romanian Academy, which were updated and approved by the government. This would be mainly the measures the government has adopted,” stated the finance minister.
