The Government approved on Wednesday an agreement concluded between the General Secretariat of the Government (SGG) – the Department for Sustainable Development and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), based on which SGG undertakes to provide the OECD with 165,000 EUR for technical assistance in establishing a center of excellence for public administration, Agerpres informs.

According to a Government’s release, the agreement was signed in Bucharest, on December 14, 2022, and in Paris, on January 5, 2023. The initial agreement was signed in September 2022, and it was updated in order to harmonize with the new budget year.

„In the framework of the initial agreement, no payments were made to the OECD. The establishment of this center is an objective assumed by Romania from the PNRR, which aims to reform public administration by promoting and coordinating a coherent policy of sustainable development at all levels and in all sectors of the state, with focus on digital transformation and increasing the relevance/use of the scientific approach in sustainable development public policies. According to the agreement, SGG undertakes to provide the OECD with a contribution in the amount of 165,000 EUR. The contribution will be paid according to the following schedule: 70% upon signing this agreement and receipt of the corresponding invoice from the OECD and 30% upon completion of the activities and results of the agreement, respectively at the time of delivery of the documents that are the subject of technical assistance and receipt of the corresponding invoice from the OECD”, the press release states.

The duration of the agreement will end on June 30, 2023, the quoted source states.
