Health Minister Alexandru Rafila is attending the 77th World Health Assembly (WHA77) in Geneva this week.
„In the plenary of the assembly, the minister of Health delivered a speech in which he supported the need for a coordinated approach to health reforms, in which investments must be coupled with measures to ensure sufficient, well-trained and motivated human resources,” informs the Ministry of Health.
The 194 member states are discussing important issues such as antimicrobial resistance, non-communicable diseases and access to health services.
„Regarding the draft Agreement on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response, member states have not reached a consensus and an extension of the negotiations on this document is being considered,” the same source says.
Romania’s delegation also includes representatives of young doctors and medical students.
The Romanian delegation also had a series of technical meetings with representatives of the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, GE Healthcare and other actors interested in developing concrete projects in Romania.
