HealthMin Rafila: Romania has the chance to build first regional innovative cancer treatment centre

Published on

Health Minister Alexandru Rafila announced that he signed an order on the establishment of a technical group that will prepare the necessary documentation for the creation of the first innovative treatment centre for patients with oncological diseases in the region.

„‘Centre of Excellence in Proton Therapy’ is perhaps a rather pretentious name. The reality is that Romania has a clear chance to build the first innovative treatment centre for cancer patients in the region! Today we signed the Minister Order establishing the Technical Working Group with the mission to draw up the necessary documentation,” Rafila wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.

According to the minister, the tenders will be launched in August at the latest.

„70 million euros of European structural funds will be absorbed in our integrated plan to professionally address cancer diseases. I am confident that at the latest in August we will start the actual tenders and shortly after the design and execution,” the minister added. AGERPRES
