Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan said after consultations with the president that whoever is nominated, if he secures Parliament’s investiture, his main challenge will be maintaining control over public finances.
- “Whoever is nominated, if he secures Parliament’s investiture, his main challenge will be maintaining control over public finances, because one of the important gains we made under this government was gaining control over public finances in order to limit debt and the deficit.
To achieve this, the new government will have to continue measures to cut state spending, to put the state at the service of citizens and, evidently, to create the conditions for an economy built on sounder foundations—an economy that does not function solely on credit and consumption, but is increasingly based on investment,” he said.
