Indep Geoana: This is the most important presidential election in the last 35 years

Published on

Independent presidential candidate Mircea Geoana says that this year’s presidential election is the most important in the last 35 years adding that he is convinced he join the presidential race standing solid chances to be able to really change things in Romania.

„There are moments in the history of any nation – and Romania is no exception – when you need to choose the path you propose for the future. This is the most important election of the President of Romania in the last 35 years, for the simple fact that the historical cycle that began after the fall of communism has ended. Another cycle begin and the fate of Romania for five or ten years, but for many, many decades, will depend on the way we elect the president and leaders of this country. That’s why I signed up for this competition, that’s why I decided to run as an independent, because in order to change something you have to be able to have the freedom and the popular vote in order to be able to work with the parties and impose on them the real changes that Romania needs,” Geoana said on Monday in Cluj-Napoca.

He added that „Romanians will decide who will go to the second round, who will win the presidency” and that he is determined to follow his path as an independent candidate, being of the opinion that he entered this competition „with serious chances”.

Geoana on Monday attended „Tech Talk Live: The Future Starts Today – Questions and Answers about R&D and Cutting-Edge Technologies”, an event organised by the „Romania Reborn! movement.
