India became the second largest diesel supplier in the Republic of Moldova, after Romania

The analysis of the evolution of imports by country in January-November 2022, compared to the similar period in 2021, reveals a two-fold increase in imports from Romania. Those from Russia increased by 22.6%, while those from India – by 5.8 times, due to considerable deliveries of diesel fuel, worth 184.6 million dollars, the National Statistics Office of the Republic of Moldova informs.

Consequently, India became the second diesel supplier in the Republic of Moldova, after Romania. It is true that most of the fuel is subsequently re-exported to Ukraine and, accordingly, it was not a definitive import.

In January – November 2022, exports of goods from the Republic of Moldova totaled approximately 3.99 billion dollars, value higher by 41.3% compared to that recorded in the same period of 2021.

Also, in January – November 2022, imports amounted to more than 8.35 billion dollars, up by about 30% compared to the same period in 2021.
