Indonesia’s G20 Presidency: Ministry of Communication collaborates with international media to disseminate G20 information globally

The Ministry of Communication and Informatics cooperates with international media and international consultants to optimize the implementation of the public communication strategy regarding Indonesia’s G20 Presidency. Minister of Communications and Informatics Johnny G. Plate said it was targeted to disseminate information on the G20 Summit at the global level.

The G20 summit is an annual discussion forum of the highest level, bringing together the world’s most powerful economies and states representing two thirds of the planet’s population. We are talking about Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, South Korea, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, UK, USA and EU. Spain, the UN, the World Bank, the African Union, ASEAN and other bodies have permanent guest status.

Minister Johnny explained that in the implementation of the G20 Summit as the culmination of a series of Indonesia’s G20 Presidencies, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics divided the coverage by media partners into two activities.

“First, the coverage of the leaders’ meeting at Candi Ballroom and social lunch in Apurva by the State Secretariat. Second, reporting on the arrival of the leaders is the task of TVRI, whose activities are centered in the Apurva Lobby and activities at the Ngurah Rai People’s Forest Park. Meanwhile, the coverage of the dinner with the delegates at Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) was not carried out,” he explained.

In a meeting chaired by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, the Minister of Communication and Information also conveyed the performance of G20 Spokesperson Maudy Ayunda. According to the Minister of Communication and Information, the G20 Spokesperson has held press conferences at the State Palace, Central Jakarta, 13 times, and held dialogues at the Communications and Informatics Media Center 4 times.

“Regarding the introduction and discussion with the Spokesperson team of the G20 Presidency, various activities have been carried out with the topics of discussion on Culture for a Sustainable Earth, Empowered Women for Joint Recovery, Quality Education for the World of Work Post-pandemic. Then, there are also content distributions on Youtube twice regarding the Climate Crisis, and the Challenges of Women in the World of Work,” she explained.
