Industrial producer prices in Romania, up 0.9pct y-o-y in May 2025

Total industrial producer prices (domestic and foreign market) in Romania increased by 0.9% in May 2025, year-on-year, but decreased by 0.2% month-on-month, according to data with the National Institute of Statistics published on Wednesday.

On the domestic market, the industrial producer price index went down 0.62% in May 2025 month-on-month and up 0.32% year-on-year.

On the foreign market, May industrial producer prices were up 0.97% on a monthly and 2.17% year-on-year.

By major industrial groups, May 2025 industrial producer prices increased in the capital goods industry (+1.80%), the consumer goods industry (5.63%), the durable goods industry (+3.24%) and the intermediate goods industry (+2.94%). In the energy industry, there was a decrease of 4.13%, all year-on-year.

By sphere of business, industrial producer prices increased in water supply, sanitation, waste management, decontamination (+9.51%), manufacturing (1.65%), mining and quarrying (5.52%). In electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and supply there was a decrease of 2.04%.
