Interest and penalties for tax debts, canceled if arrears are paid by November 25 (PM Ciolacu)

Published on

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu announced that on Monday will be made public the normative act providing for the cancellation or waiver of the interests and penalties of those who owe money to the state, if they pay these arrears by November 25.

Taxpayers who pay their taxes on time will also receive a 3 percent bonus from next month.

„Today will also be made public the normative act through which we are taking a series of measures to bring extra revenue to the budget. We are cancelling the interests and penalties for those with tax debts if they pay these arrears by November 25. But we are also taking a measure for the first time since the Revolution [1989, editor’s note]: we are also rewarding the correct taxpayers, with taxes up to date. From the following month they will receive a 3% bonus, so they pay less to the state. We consider that this is a natural way to show a sign of appreciation for all honest taxpayers in this country,” said the prime minister at the beginning of the government meeting.
