Local public authorities can participate in the financing of hospitals in terms of administration and operating expenses, respectively personnel expenses, established under the law, goods and services, investments, capital repairs, consolidation, expansion and modernisation, endowments with medical equipment of transferred public health units, supplementing the food allowance, according to a law promulgated on Thursday by interim president Ilie Bolojan.

This is the Law on the modification and completion of Law no. 95/2006 on the reform in the field of health.

Financing is made, according to the normative act, within the limit of the budgetary credits approved for this purpose in the local budgets.

The administrative-territorial units or administrative-territorial subdivisions of the sectors of the municipality of Bucharest that have not taken over the administration as the credit authorizing officer of a hospital, from the approved local budget, can participate in the financing and support of public health units, regardless of their subordination, the law also stipulates.
