President Klaus Iohannis congratulated Romania’s national football team, nicknamed „Tricolorii” (the Tricolours) on Monday evening on its victory over Ukraine at the European Championship in Germany.

„Exciting victory today for our football team in their debut match at EURO 2024. Congratulations to the national team for this achievement and good luck for the future! Go Romania!” wrote President Iohannis on his Facebook page.

Romania’s national football team debuted with a win at the European Football Championship – EURO 2024, hosted by Germany, 3-0 (1-0) against Ukraine on Monday at the Football Arena in Munich, in Group E.
