President Klaus Iohannis declared, on Tuesday, that the situation in the Republic of Moldova is critical and he considers that it is the duty of the NATO allies to find ways to help this country to increase its resilience capacity, write Agerpres.
The head of state expressed his hope that the conclusions of the NATO Summit in Vilnius will contain some remarks on this matter.
„The Republic of Moldova is an important concern for me and, as I found out today, for all of us. The situation in Moldova is critical. I consider it our duty and responsibility to find ways to help Moldova increase its resilience. I am very happy that my colleagues also share this assessment with me, and it would be really wonderful if we could have some remarks on this matter in the Vilnius conclusions,” said President Iohannis, in The Hague, during a press conference
President Iohannis stated that the Vilnius Summit will be an important moment in the further strengthening of the Alliance, on many dimensions.
The head of state participated in the meeting organized by the prime minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, in preparation for the NATO Summit in Vilnius, with the participation of the presidents of Lithuania and Poland, the prime ministers of Albania, Belgium and Norway and the secretary general of NATO, in The Hague, Kingdom of the Netherlands.
