This is a decisive year for Romanians, according to head of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) George Simion, who submitted on Monday to the Central Electoral Bureau, his presidential candidacy file and a list of backers of his presidential bid.
Alongside him were members and sympathisers of the party.
„Today we are submitting together the file for the parliamentary election and for the presidential election because this year is a decisive year for Romanians, for the people who need to be helped and who need support from their government and do not have this support; there are no dams, critical infrastructure is not built in Romania, we do not have social protection, those who really need the support of the state to get through difficult times do not receive it, so I will submit my candidacy today so that Romania remains a country of peace and so that all Romanians benefit from the country’s riches,” said Simion.
He also thanked all those who were with the victims of Galati flooding over the last few days.
„I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart that for seven days you have been with the victims and give an example of Romanian solidarity. Only this way can we lift Romania out of the mud, only this way can we rebuild a normal country for our children, only this way can we bring back, from abroad, the Romanians chased away by successive treacherous governments.”
