Italian ambassador wants to know how to contribute to the increase in the number of Italian investors in Brasov

The Italian Ambassador to Bucharest, Alfredo Maria Durante Mangoni, on Tuesday said he was interested in finding ways in which the diplomatic representation of his country in Romania can contribute to increasing the number of Italian investors in Brasov County, according to Agerpres.

The Italian diplomat, who is currently paying his first official visit to Brasov County, had meetings with prefect Mihai Catalin Vasii, with the vice-president of the County Council, Constantin Todorica Serban, and with the mayor of the Brasov municipality, Allen Coliban.

„I came here to express the Embassy’s and my personal support for the Italian entrepreneurs in the area and to cultivate good relations with the local authorities. I am also interested in finding out how Brasov businessmen and officials see the future of this county and what contribution do you expect from the Italian community here,” said Ambassador Durante Mangoni, in a press release issued by the Brasov Prefect’s Institution.

According to prefect Catalin Vasii, the Italian diplomat also wanted to know what needs to be done to increase the number of Italian investors in the Brasov area.

„I presented our county to the distinguished guest, with an emphasis on the demographic, economic and educational components. The discussions also focused on the Brasov-Ghimbav International Airport, H.E. Mr. Ambassador expressing the opinion that it will contribute significantly to the development of the entire area, will increase the interest of entrepreneurs to invest here and will represent a boost for tourism. In this context, HE the ambassador was interested in whether there are any airlines that have made public their intention to operate flights connecting Brasov with cities in Italy. He also wanted to know which is our opinion about what should be done to increase the Italian presence in the business environment in our county and affirmed the willingness of the Italian side to collaborate on the management side in the health and tourism sectors,” said the prefect of Brasov.

At the same time, during the meeting he had with the mayor of Brasov, Allen Coliban, the opportunities for increasing cooperation between Italy, Italian companies, the Brasov municipality and the local business environment were discussed.

„From the discussions it emerged that Italy, thanks to its experience and good practices, can support Brasov mainly in waste management and recycling, the organization and management of medical services, and in tourism,” according to an information sent by the Brasov City Hall.

On the occasion of this visit, a ceremony was held at the Brasov City Hall to present the „Ordine della Stella d’Italia” (Order of the Star of Italy) decoration in the rank of knight to the honorary consul of Italy in Brasov, professor Emanuele Bagnasco, a decoration offered by the head the Italian state.
