Joint Russian-Chinese patrol exercises in the Pacific region

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Thursday that Chinese and Russian ships have started joint patrolling exercises in the Pacific region, according to Kyodo and Reuters, Agerpres read.

„The mission of these maneuvers is to strengthen naval cooperation between Russia and China, to maintain peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, to monitor sea waters and to protect Russian and Chinese maritime economic activities,”, the Ministry states.

The exercises include tactical maneuvers and artillery fire.
