Josep Borrell: EU will support Ukraine as long as necessary

The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, announced that the member states of the European Union approved a new tranche worth 500 million euros of military aid for Ukraine, at the Foreign Affairs Council meeting held in Brussels, Agerpres reports.

In the press conference at the end of the meeting, Borrell said that this seventh tranche brings the value of support for Ukraine so far, within the European Instrument for Peace, to 3.6 billion euros. Military, financial and humanitarian support from the EU for Kyiv thus reaches 49 billion euros.

„We will continue to support Ukraine in the best possible way, Ukraine must win this war. We conveyed to Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba that we will support Ukraine as long as necessary. Russia continues the barbaric, systematic attacks on the population and civil infrastructure in Ukraine and thus places itself on the wrong side, violating international humanitarian laws,” said the high-ranking European official.
