Justice Minister Alina Gorghiu told a graduation ceremony at the Constantin Brancoveanu National School for the Training of Correction Officers at Targu Ocna that labour shortage in Romania’s correctional police is a big system problem.
She told the young graduates that the profession they have chosen comes with many challenges and responsibilities, pointing to a growing number of girls who choose this career, whom she especially congratulated.
„You are needed, because a justice minister tells you that frankly labour shortage is a big problem. (…) And because I have touched on this theme of human resources, I have a great satisfaction – looking at the girls and boys – that steps have been taken to ensure gender equality, as 32.95%or 87 of the graduates are women, and I want to applaud especially the girls in this class.”
