His Majesty Felipe VI, King of Spain, will be in Romania on Tuesday, where, together with president Nicusor Dan, he will visit the Joint Training Centre in Cincu, informs the Presidential Administration.
Felipe VI was also in Romania in July 2009, then as Prince of Asturias, together with his wife, the current Queen Letizia.
The National Joint Training Centre „Getica” in Cincu is a military structure subordinated to the General Staff of the Romanian Land Forces, located in the rural town of Cincu, Brasov county. The centre facilitates the training of military formations up to brigade level, as well as of personnel participating in individual missions abroad.
In the context of the Russian invasion of Ukraine (2022), a NATO Multinational Battle Group (Battle Group Forward Presence – BGFP), later renamed Collective Defence Battle Group (CDBG), was established at Cincu, with France as the framework nation.
The centre frequently hosts NATO exercises, such as STEADFAST DART 25 (with Romanian, French and Spanish soldiers) or SARMIS 25.1 (with the 2nd Mountain Ranger Brigade „Sarmizegetusa”).
