President Klaus Iohannis on Wednesday congratulated Donald Trump for winning the U.S. presidential elections.
„Congratulations, president-elect Donald Trump, for your victory! Romania is a strong and committed Strategic Ally of the U.S. Through our joint Romania – U.S. efforts, we will bring peace and prosperity for both our countries and beyond, defending our common interests,” the Romanian head of state wrote on X platform (former Twitter).
Donald Trump claimed a historic political victory on Wednesday in a speech delivered in West Palm Beach, Florida, after Fox News network credited him with victory in the presidential elections, AFP and Reuters report.
He thanked Americans for electing him as the 45th and 47th president of the United States.
„This will be the golden age of America. This is a magnificent victory for the American people that will allow us to make America great again,” Trump said.
At the moment, Donald Trump has 266 electoral votes, compared to 195 for Kamala Harris, with the total needed to win the U.S. presidential race being 270.
