Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis declared on Tuesday that his country appreciates Romania’s role in facilitating the export of Ukrainian grain, write Agerpres.
Speaking at a joint press conference with his Romanian counterpart Luminita Odobescu, as he attends the Annual Meeting of Romanian Diplomacy in Bucharest, the Lithuanian top diplomat voiced appreciation for Romania’s efforts to boost grain exports from Ukraine, suggesting that the Baltic route could also be a viable, reliable and additional solution for the transit of Ukrainian products.
Speaking about support to Ukraine, he described Romania as a „key player” in this context. Ukraine’s place is in NATO. Peace is possible only through the clear victory of Ukraine and we must help make this happen. We must have a strategy in place that will lead to Ukraine’s victory, namely, how do we help Ukraine win this war and regain all the occupied territories. From our point of view, Romania is a key player in this context.
We must make plans for a victory, not for a war that will last as long as necessary, the Lithuanian minister emphasized. At the end of his intervention, the diplomat sent a message of compassion for the victims and the families of the victims of the LPG explosions in Crevedia.
