On Thursday, the government approved the draft laws for the ratification of two loan agreements with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the project to improve disaster risk management and for the financing of the project to prevent and reduce pollution in rural areas, write Agerpres.
According to a press release from the Executive, the loan agreement with IBRD for the financing of the project to prevent and reduce pollution in rural areas, signed in Bucharest on April 6, 2023, provides for contracting a loan worth 60 million euros for this purpose.
The project envisages the modernization of public institutions responsible for pollution control and the exchange of knowledge and information transfer through the establishment of model farms designed to promote non-polluting agricultural practices, the quoted source states.
Also, the Loan Agreement with IBRD for financing the project regarding the improvement of disaster risk management, signed in Bucharest on May 25, 2023, provides for the increase, from 50 million euros to 92 million euros of the loan for this purpose.
„Within component 1 of the project, investments in the structural consolidation and rehabilitation of the infrastructure of existing buildings and/or the construction of new buildings are ongoing, in various stages of execution, to ensure the complete functioning of the critical infrastructure in the event of disasters,” the Executive states.
