Luis-Vicențiu Lazarus (NI), in the EU Parliament (Strasbourg): Romania has been kept 13 years at the Schengen door by Austria, through a veto, that the migrant routes would pass through Romania, although there was no evidence to prove it

Unaffiliated MEP Luis-Vicențiu Lazarus made a speech during the debate on: The links between organized crime and smuggling of migrants in the light of recent UN reports, on Wednesday, 22 January – at the European Parliament Plenary Session in Strasbourg, stating that Romania has been kept 13 years at the Schengen door, with Austria noting, through a veto, that the migrant routes would pass through Romania, although there was no evidence to this, because Frontex made it abundantly clear that the migrant routes did not pass through Romania.

Here is the full text of the speech in the plenary of the European Parliament:

Luis-Vicențiu Lazarus (NI), blue-card question. – I wanted to make a point about emigration. You know that Romania has been kept at the Schengen door for 13 years, with Austria noting, through a veto, that the migrant routes would pass through Romania, although there was no proof of this, because Frontex explained quite clearly that the migrant routes did not pass through Romania. That is why Romania has been punished.

Now, I would like to ask the MEP whether Romania will be able to recover the more than EUR 100 billion lost in the area of transportation because of this.
