The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) commemorates one year since the attacks by Hamas against Israel and calls for the immediate conclusion of a cease-fire agreement.
The Romanian Ministry shows in a press release sent to AGERPRES that this year, Romania has not stopped advocating for the immediate and unconditional release of the hostages from the Gaza Strip, constantly reiterating the need to protect civilians even in crisis contexts.
„Among them there are also persons with dual Romanian-Israeli citizenship or of Romanian origin, whose safety has been and will remain a priority for our country,” MAE said.
The Ministry points out that since the beginning of the crisis, Romania has been in solidarity with the State of Israel, condemning at the highest levels and in all international forums the unprecedented terrorist attacks by Hamas against the State of Israel, equally emphasizing the need to stop the cycle of violence and the immediate end of a cease-fire agreement that would lead both to the release of the hostages and to the provision of a continuous, safe and unobstructed flow of humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip.
MAE recalls that the terrorist attack by Hamas against the State of Israel resulted in more than 1,100 civilian casualties and more than 250 people kidnapped and held captive in the Gaza Strip.
