Manufacturers’ new orders in Romania up 5.2pct nine months into 2025

Manufacturers’ new orders in Romania increased in nominal terms by 5.2% in the first nine months of 2025, year-on-year, according to data published on Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Between January 1 and September 30, 2025, there were increases in the durable goods industry (+9.5%), the current goods industry (+7.9%), the intermediate goods industry (+5.8%) and the capital goods industry (+4.3%).

In September 2025, manufacturers’ new orders as a whole (domestic and foreign market) increased in nominal terms from August 2025 by 43.2% and from September 2024 by 9.3%.

Thus, manufacturers’ new orders in September 2025 were up overall by 43.2% on a monthly basis on increases in the capital goods industry (+62.3%), the consumer goods industry (+23.9%), the durable goods industry (+23%) and in the intermediate goods industry (+19.6%).

As against the same month of 2024, manufacturers’ new orders increased in nominal terms overall by 9.3%on increases in the capital goods industry (+11.4%), the consumer goods industry (+8.5%) and the intermediate goods industry (+6.6%).
