The speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Marcel Ciolacu, who is visiting the Republic of Korea, met in Seoul with members of the Romanian community in this country, according to Agerpres.
„A little earlier, we met at our Embassy in Seoul with a part of the Romanian community in South Korea: small, but heartfelt and full of beautiful stories! Such as the story of the young Romanian woman who, single-handedly, convinced the giant Samsung C&T to get involved in an ambitious project in IT. Or of the lady professor who, after 10 years of teaching at the university in Korea, when she was preparing to leave her job, met here the man who became her husband (…) and many others!” Ciolacu wrote on Facebook.
He added that this „energetic” and „ambitious” community manages to „attract South Korean students who feel half Romanian”.
„Ambassador Cezar Manole Armeanu introduced to us the young man who played us some soul chords from Gheorghe Zamfir… We listened to their stories with love, laughed and was moved, then tasted sarmale and cozonac, so tasty that we hugged Mrs. Daniela, the one who surprised us by making us feel at home, before the holidays! We realized again what a huge force lies in our Romanians who live everywhere around the world. I thank the Romanians from South Korea for the sincerity and positive energy with which they welcomed us! This is what Romania needs, day by day!” wrote Marcel Ciolacu.
Prime minister Nicolae Ciuca and the speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Marcel Ciolacu, are paying an official visit to the Republic of Korea between December 21 and 23.
