President Klaus Iohannis sent a message on Friday on the occasion of Military Reservist Day, highlighting the fact that the military have dedicated themselves to the defense of the country and maintaining national security, so that Romania remains a free, democratic and safe state, integrated into the European and Euro-Atlantic family.
„On this day, we also thank the volunteer reservists, who joined the common effort to consolidate a solid, robust and professional national military reserve, prepared to participate, if necessary, in the defense of the country. Today, when the war returned to Europe, Romania benefits from the most solid security guarantees within NATO, and our progress and Euro-Atlantic integration is largely due to the activity and operational successes of today’s military reservists,” stated Iohannis, according to a press release sent by the Presidential Administration.
„In an era marked by profound changes and diverse threats, these are essential qualities for adapting to a security environment in continuous transformation. You have worn the uniform under the National Flag with honesty and honor and have successfully completed the missions you’ve been assigned to, both in the country and in the theaters of operations in Afghanistan, Iraq, Mali and the Western Balkans, contributing to the prestige enjoyed by the Romanian Army in the European Union, the North Atlantic Alliance and the United Nations,” Iohannis said.
