The minister of Research, Innovation and Digitization (MCID), Sebastian Burduja, paid a visit to the American state of Arizona on Monday and Tuesday, as part of a tour in the USA, his agenda covering the development of ties in the area of innovation, in order to build the future within the framework of the Strategic Partnership with the US, according to a press release sent to Agerpres.
„There is a major interest here in attracting and developing key industries, such as semiconductors, the aerospace field, hydrogen, laser-based technology, etc.,” MCID informs.
Minister Burduja gave a speech in the plenary session of the House of Representatives of the State of Arizona on the occasion of the adoption of an official proclamation in honor of Romania and himself for „remarkable efforts in research, innovation and digitization and the important relationship of friendship between the state of Arizona and Romania”.
„The official proclamation adopted by the House of Representatives of the State of Arizona is a historic gesture, which honors us and, equally, makes us responsible to take the Strategic Partnership to the next level, especially in the research-innovation area. It is a joy to be in Arizona these days, especially since the state hosts a Romanian studies program at the State University, which began in 1998 and has become the largest Romanian language and culture program in the United States. Moreover, the Romanian community here is extremely active, and the cooperation expands every year, in important and varied fields, from trade to education, innovation or entrepreneurship,” Burduja said.
He had a series of official meetings with the state authorities, with representatives of the business environment, the academic environment and the Romanian community.
