Agriculture Minister Florin Barbu announced that he signed a Memorandum of Understanding today with his counterpart from the People’s Republic of China regarding cooperation in the field of agriculture, a document that will enable our farmers to export agri-food products.
- “WE ARE OPENING THE WORLD’S LARGEST MARKET TO ROMANIAN PRODUCTS
Today, together with my counterpart from the People’s Republic of China, I signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of agriculture, a document under which we will facilitate the export of agri-food products by our farmers. In this way, we are strengthening our position as a supplier of value-added products, opening new markets, and attracting investments in processing.
We have already finalized the technical details for three cooperation protocols through which we will begin exporting heat-treated poultry meat, dairy products, and aquatic products. These documents will be signed tomorrow.
In addition, we are in the advanced stages of preparing documents to begin exporting grains and processed pork products to China.
Ensuring a stable market is the most important element in the trade flow, especially during this extremely challenging period for the agricultural sector.
The memorandum signed today paves the way for cooperation between the two countries regarding food safety, agri-food processing, research and innovation, and the exchange of modern technologies.
“Thank you to H.E. Dan-Horia Maxim, Romania’s ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, to ANSVSA President Alexandru Nicolae Bociu, and to everyone involved in this success for Romanian farmers and processors!” the minister wrote on Facebook.
