The Ministry of Culture, in partnership with public institutions and cultural organisations, is organising a series of events on Wednesday to celebrate the Year of the Child and provide children with the opportunity to discover Romanian art and culture.
According to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday, among the activities held is the „Brancusi – The Man of Infinity” exhibition, which brings together the winning works from the contest dedicated to the great Romanian sculptor. Students from the „Constantin Brancusi” Technological High School in Pestisani created drawings, models and essays inspired by his work, which will be displayed at the Palace of Parliament.
The events of this day are also dedicated to commemorating important cultural and social moments: International Theatre Day for Children and Youth (March 20), Storyteller’s Day (March 20), and Street Children’s Day (March 21).
„Thus, the Ministry of Culture is organising a special theatre performance, offering children the opportunity to enjoy a unique artistic experience. The play ‘Punguta cu doi bani,’ staged by actors from the Ion Creanga Theatre, captivatingly reinterprets the famous story by Ion Creanga, bringing before the audience a world full of charm and lessons,” the quoted source mentions.
Over 260 children will participate in the activities organised, including students from the „Constantin Brancusi” Technological High School in Pestisani and children supported by the General Directorates for Social Assistance and Child Protection from Bucharest.
Additionally, Bianca Partenie, author of children’s books and founder of the literacy project „POVesti cu care cresti,” will hold an interactive reading session of her book „The Realm of Forgotten Tales,” outlining for the young audience the literary universe and creative process through play and words.
