Ministry of Finance borrows 56 million RON from commercial banks, on Friday

Published on

The Ministry of Finance attracted, on Friday, 56 million RON from commercial banks, in addition to Thursday’s auction, when it borrowed 1.09 billion RON through a benchmark state bond issue with a residual maturity of 120 months, at an average yield of 6.54% per year.

The nominal value of the additional issue was 75 million RON, and the banks submitted offers worth 56 million RON.

The Ministry of Finance has planned, in August 2024, loans from commercial banks in the amount of 5.1 billion RON, to which the sum of 600 million RON can be added through additional sessions of non-competitive offers, related to bond auctions.

The total amount, of 5.7 billion RON, is 885 million RON less than the one that was scheduled in July 2024, of 6.585 billion RON, and will be intended for refinancing the public debt and financing the state budget deficit.
