Ministry of Finance draws 10 million lei from banks on Tuesday, in addition to Monday’s tenders

Published on

The Ministry of Finance drew on Tuesday 10 million lei from banks, in addition to Monday’s tenders, when it borrowed 1 billion lei, at interest rates of 7.33% and 7.36% per year, through two benchmark state bond issues.

The nominal value of the two additional issues was 75 million lei each. Banks submitted bids worth 10 million lei for one, and did not participate in the other.

The Ministry of Finance planned, for October 2025, loans from commercial banks worth 7 billion lei, to which the amount of 990 million lei can be added through additional sessions of non-competitive bids, related to bond tenders.

The total amount, of 7.99 billion lei, is 995 million lei higher than the one that was scheduled for September this year, of 6.995 billion lei, and will be intended for the refinancing and early repayment of public debt and financing the state budget deficit. AGERPRES
