The Minister of Tourism, Daniel Cadariu, stated on Tuesday in a press conference held at the Victoria Palace, when asked by the Ecopolitic News reporter about the promotion of Romania as a tourist destination outside Europe, that it is undoubtedly necessary, but the reality is that at least in the last two for years, very little was done on the promotion component.

„The promotion activity, one of the main components of the tourist activity, is an older gap of us, the Romanians, in the 30 years since the Revolution. The reality is that at least in the last two years, very little has been done on the promotion component, we know, in 2020, 2021, it was not even possible for economic agents to participate in international fairs to promote themselves there”, he said the minister.

Constantin Cadariu stated that the ministry is newly established, since the middle of April, and in parallel it has carried out several activities, including the preparation of programs but also entering into details regarding the tourist activity, including the promotion one.

„A promotion outside of Europe is undoubtedly necessary, because historically speaking, for example in terms of the number of foreign tourists, before 2019 tourists from the USA were in 4th place. We have reasons to do this”, said Cadariu.
